Google Chrome

Anyone not living under a rock this past week will know that Google have released an early beta of their own browser, Chrome.

Now that they’ve improved the EULA, I’ve installed it, and it seems reasonable. Definitely a bit rough around the edges – it is a beta, after all – but pretty fast, and its menus hardly take up any space, which is always a plus.

However, what I found I missed more than anything was an advert blocking plugin. To surf to my regular haunts and suddenly find they’re full of adverts is a real eye-opener… hopefully a plugin community will spring up around Chrome over the next few months. I think that will be a crucial factor in its success or failure.
