New site for Euro-Med Youth Platform

portfolio-euromedp

I’m very happy to announce the launch of the latest ZigPress client site – a new site for the Euro-Mediterranean Youth Platform, replacing their older site which had been running for a couple of years.

Euro-Mediterranean Youth Platform

The Euro-Mediterranean Youth Platform is run by the European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA), an EU organisation based in Malta that is responsible for various educational programmes across the EU. The Youth Platform aims to bring together young people from Mediterranean countries to facilitate networking, understanding, education and participation.

For this project I enlisted the help of my colleague Darko Strnisa, who has worked with me on a number of projects and who created the initial design. I built the site using WordPress, with a custom theme based on Darko’s design and an appropriate selection of plugins.

One section of the site (the database of potential partner organisations for cross-border projects) is yet to be completed, and will be added in the coming weeks.

I’m particularly happy to have been given this project for two reasons: firstly, I managed to win the contract in the face of stiff competition from major established web agencies in Malta, and secondly this is a very high profile site, with a potential audience of millions and links from many other EU sites.

As an added bonus, I can now spell Mediterranean correctly almost all the time…

  1. Congratulations for winning the contract amidst tough competition. And I have to admit I also have a hard time spelling that particular word, so two thumbs up for you. Best of luck in everything you do!

  2. This definitely sounds an interesting place for the European Youth to share their views regarding every topic in the world. Education based popular communities are becoming scarce day by day so its refreshing to see some one opening up a forum for us. Keep up the good work.

  6. The secret of spelling “mediterranean” is to break it into its parts in the old languages that the word came from. “Medi” means “in the middle” and “terra” means the earth. It was considered to be in the middle of the known world a long time ago.
That, or build a site on a URL with the word in it… :)

  7. Congratulations! Thanks for the spelling lesson Star Sapphire!
